Message Yes, some cars do much better in snow than others, but you're missing one point...it's how controlled you are and how well you know ur car. I could care less about snow. It sucks to drive in becuase I have to go slow, but that's the point right there. I take it slow and easy, don't accelerate through turns and so on.
Plus, 4wd or awd isn't all that great either...more or less a misconception. I drive my mother's Jeep about the same as the Z in snow and conditions of the sort. 4wd and awd only really helps you get going. Doesn't really help you stop or anything along those lines. Plus, I fear the people in SUVs more than I do those in Jetta's and whatnot. They're the one's that thing they can just go plowing through the roads full of snow and take a turn at 30mph.
Hmmm, let's see. heavy SUV + more weight leaning one way through a turn (higher center of gravity) = loss of traction and a spinout or a rollover.
Bottom line, as long as u can clear the snow you can drive it.
